Not sure what to say?

Dear Barbara,
Carol and I offer our deepest condolences for your loss of Mike. We have not been able to travel to Milwaukee as often as we would like to visit Jerry, Mary and family, but you must know that every visit that we did manage included the anticipation of getting to visit with you and Mike while we were there. We will cherish the memories of those visits and the warmth that you and Mike aways conveyed.

As part of the Busateri Family, Jeanne and I lost a dear and influential friend with the passing of Mike Spalda. While teenagers, Mike got both Jeanne and I involved in the Drama League at St Peter & Paul Parish in Milwaukee …. along with dozens of young teens and singles. “Hey, our group needs someone to do….whatever.” That “whatever” turned into acting or singing and dancing or set painting or “all of the above”. Twenty-five years later we are Youth Ministers in Dallas, talking to a young...

Dear Barbara,
Bill and I were shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Mike's passing. He will always be a shining light in our lives as he has been since I was a child. Who could forget the gales of laughter as we rode downtown for the Christmas parade in that VW Bug. Or the silliness at those choir picnics at Terry Andre park. And then there were the adventures and misadventures of the SSPP Drama League where I would meet Bill, my husband of 47 years. We learned so much from you...

Dear Barbara, I just received the news about Mikes trip to Heaven. I remember his kindness to me ( an old person) and how loving he was always to you. I enjoyed our group travels and the jolly laughter Mike always brought to a group. He will be missed by so many, but i am sure he is smiling down on all of us. gloria

Dear Mike, how quickly you leave us. I will miss your hearty laughter and great heart. It has been an honor to know you. Barbara, my love to you. S. Miriam Cecile Ross, SSND

Dear Barb, so sorry to hear that Mike has left this earth to go to heaven! I have so many wonderful memories of you and Mike from the Drama League Days. To think that you both tolerated all those teens! I loved sitting next to Mike at Fran and Carls dinner table he always made me laugh to the point of crying and Joe would have to give us the "stern" look! So glad I had the chance to see you both in Sept at St.Petes grade school reunion and again at unfortunately Andi's funeral. So blessed to...

My good fortune was to know Mike Spalda and enjoy his contagious sense of humor. Sometimes it was a chuckle, other times uproarious laughter. And although, he may have been telling the story to several people at once, you always felt that he was especially sharing it with you. Ever the gentle man, he modeled for other Catholic men how to publically practice one's faith in his service to his parish, the St. Ben's Meal Program, and always to Barbara. I look at the historic interior of...
