Michael Sparber, 89, of Aventura, Florida passes away on December 12, 2012. Born in the Bronx, New York, he grew up in the Depression years and went on to become a self-made, self-educated man. He obtained a Master's degree in Speech and a Law degree, became an educator and teacher, and a very successful trial attorney. He was a pioneer in the arena of Childrens Weight Loss Camps and operated successful camps for Weight Watchers. He was a founding member of Mouth Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

He is survived by three beautiful children, Tony (Dale) Sparber, Linda Sparber and Debbie (Todd) Brilliant, three adored grandchildren, Zachary Sparber, Sasha and Sam Hecht, and his loving and devoted wife, Carol.

Funeral Services on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 12 Noon at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel, 20955 Biscayne Boulevard, Aventura, Florida with Rabbi Edwin Farber officiating. Entombment follows the services at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, Florida 33172.

Dear Tony,, Linda, Debbie and families,
Something just told me to "google" Mike today. I was very sad to learn of his passing. I have fond memories of Weight Watchers Camps, especially Camp Colang, and it all began with Mike. I remember my interview in his imposing office, before my first summer in Wisconsin. The enthusiasm he expressed for the camps and the program were contagious, and I know he positively influenced hundreds, maybe thousands, of lives through them. He loved Camp Colang, and I was blessed to have shared summers there. Mike will be missed.
