The Spellman family - You have my deepest sympathies. I met Mike while working in the IT dept at the Daily Herald. At the time I met Mike he was a local high school reporter and then took over the reigns of the Blackhawks coverage beat. Now he's in a better place with the Lord. Both Mike and Tim Sassone are now watching the Blackhawks to make sure they win another Stanley Cup. Go Blackhawks!

I attended St.James with Mike and have fond memories of those days. I was deeply saddened when I read bout Mike's passing. Mike was such a likeable guy; I wish I had stayed in touch with him over the years. May you rest in peace Mike and God Bless your family.

The best Buddy any guy could have !! Miss you.

I was saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing this week. Mike attended the same Junior High & High school as myself and I will always have fond memories of playing on the same basketball & baseball teams. Rest in peace big guy!

Enjoyed my time spent talking with you at Blackhawk games ,gonna miss you up in press row. May God Bless you & rest in peace Mike!

I met Mike asking him for updates about Tim Sassone when he got sick in 2012, and soon after whenever he saw me he would tell me before I asked. He was a great guy and will be missed in the UC pressbox. My condolences to his family and friends.

Was a fellow ginger at St. James. RIP Mike.

Dear Judy, my prayers are with you and your family during the loss of your brother. May the Lord Jesus give you His peace during this time of mourning.
