Michael Wayne Steuck was born on January 31, 1966. He blessed Norman Steuck and Willy Roberts as an addition to their family by adoption 3 weeks after birth. He attended elementary school and the first couple years of middle school in Pipestone, MN and then moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he graduated from Washington High School in 1984. Mike was married for a brief period and blessed with a son, Devin Miles Steuck. Mike met the love of his life, Donna Ronning (Sliefert) from Storm Lake, IA in December of 2007 and married January 30, 2025.
Mike served in the Army National Guard at Fort Benning, GA in Third Battalion, D Company, 3rd Platoon from August 1984 until March 1990 and was honorably discharged. Mike worked 37.5 years as a Technical Support Service contractor at the USGS Earth Resource Observation and Science (EROS) Center holding multiple jobs and learning many new skills. He had the confidence to take on new challenges and opportunities as they were presented at EROS. He always said, “There isn’t a job I can’t do if you take the time to teach me. I’m always open to learning new things.” He was always thankful for his job at EROS and thankful for the people that took a chance on him.
Mike had a passion for life that always included great friends, sunshine and usually music. He enjoyed music of all genres, volleyball, golf, cars and spending time with friends at the lake. Mike’s passion for music, great smile and warm heart made him the prime candidate for meeting new people; many of whom grew to be lifelong friends. Mike cherished all the friendships made through his journey in life.
Mike is survived by his wife Donna Ronning; son Devin Steuck, Sioux Falls, SD; sister Sandra Wodzinski (John), Sioux Falls, SD; brother Norm Steuck (Denise), Hartford, SD; father Norman Steuck, Sioux Falls, SD; mother Willy Roberts, Sioux Falls, SD and birth siblings reunited over the years: Nerissa LaCoursiere (Mike), Brooks, MN; Scott Bennett (Karen), Jeffersonville, IN; Sharon Dufault (Cary), Crookston, MN and Mark Zickrick (Angela), Rock Island, IL.
Pallbearers will be Devin Steuck, Norm Steuck, Bryan Geerdes, Frank Przymus, Bryan Chesshir and Brad VanderWoude.
Mike’s family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Heidi McKean, Dr. Jonathan Bannworth, Dr. Joel Grow, Dr. ChengCheng Xie, CNP April Schneider and all the compassionate care providers at the Dougherty Hospice House.
A Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home. The Celebration of Mike's life will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service, there will be a luncheon then burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Dear friend, thank you for all of the memories throughout the last couple of decades. Volleyball, trips, concerts and just nights out to laugh. We will miss all of you all of the time. We will celebrate your life and try not to grieve your loss. Sending our love with you on this next journey.
Dawn and Bryan.

So many memories of playing volleyball together. One of my favorite memories was when I met Mike & Donna at Cherry Creek drenched from a down pour after playing volleyball at Netbinders. Will miss our jokes and your beautiful smile. My deepest sympathies to Donna and family.
