Not sure what to say?

Mr. Stewart was one of the few who was kind, fair and funny! I learned a lot from him! He will be missed. God bless his soul!

for all SHS ALUMNI ,One of the most committed educators I have had the pleasure to have known ...take a moment and remember.

To the man who taught me to love, respect and cherish the time spent on the ocean - Godspeed and strong winds at your back Mr. Stewart. You taught us not just the ocean curriculum, but gave us the passion for life on the water. Through high school, college and law school, you remain the teacher with the most profound impact on my life. I will never forget you Michael Stewart, and will think of you often while on the ocean! Hope to sail with you again someday, on one of heaven's many seas!

You were an inspiration. You challenged us to become the best we could be. You made us believe in ourselves, think outside of the box, and taught us to see the beauty and complexity in the marine world around us. Our trips to the Keys and then the Bahamas remain my favorite HS memories. You will be so missed by so many.

Bahamas trip 1975

Mr. Stuart my favorite high school teacher of all time!! Had the opportunity to spend time with him in the keys and on a 41' sailboat to the bahamas. Memories that I have cherished for 38 years and will continue to cherish. I remember him as being a great teacher and a very good person. He will be missed by many! Condolences to his family and friends.

I deeply enjoyed "Mr. Stuart's" Advanced Marine Ecology class, trips to the Keys and sailing around the Abaco Islands with him! He not only taught us about marine ecology, but responsibility in life. For that, I am truly grateful!

I am saddened by the news of Mr. Stuart's passing. Condolences to all his direct and extended family. A great man and teacher. My favorite memories were our class trips to Sarasota Bay and the shark he prepared for us in lab at the end of the school year in 1976.

I had the pleasure of cruising the Baltic Sea with Michael, Connie, Haley, and Dillon in July. It was such a joy to eat with you guys every night and laugh and talk about the day's activities. I hope that you guys find peace during this very sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hands down my favorite teacher. Had the pleasure of having him and Fritz as teachers for all 3 years of high school. Two trips to both the keys and the Bahamas. My love if the water remains to this day. Thank you, Mr. Stuart.
