My condolences to Michael's family and friends. When I served with him briefly on the board of PEN New Mexico, he impressed me with his commitment to writing, poetry, and the arts, but also to finding the joy in life. He displayed a puckish sense of humor that I enjoyed. It is comforting to know that he is again with his beloved Esther. RIP, both of you.

I'm very sad to learn of Michael's passing. I worked as his secretary/assistant at STB for 12 years, and I have to say that time period was one of the highlights of my career. He was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever know, and I loved working with him. Prayer for peace for his family and friends. Rest in peace, MGS.
