Not sure what to say?

Was sorry to hear of Mike's,passing. He, Dick Kniss, and John Denver's passing is a sad day for those, like me, that came of age in the early '70s.

Mary Kay, I just learned of Mike's passing and was very saddened by the news. Back when y'all first moved to Hilton Head y'all rented a little beach front cottage on Lark and Dune from my parents, Betty and Oscar Crosby. I was only 10 years old but have never forgotten y'all (and your dog Banjo). You were both so kind to me whenever I saw you - always had time to chat with me. He even sent me an autographed album which I still have and enjoy. I'm so sorry for your loss but remain thankful...

Mary Kay, I had the great fortune and pleasure of working with Mike on an archaelogical project on Daufuskie Island during the summer of 1985, along with Colin Brooker and Larry Lepionka of Beaufort, SC. It is/was a summer I'll never forget, and Mike was certainly a huge part of it. He was such an easy-going, happy-go-lucky fellow with a quick wit, and he expressed himself so well. We all just had a ball, together. I remember asking him what he did before he got into archaeology, and he...

Mary Kay,
So sorry for your (Our) loss. As you know, Mike was like a son to me and we spent a lot of time together back in the 1960's when he was playing lead guitar for me. That was before he went with John Denver. I will also treasure the my Hilton Head memories and listening to him tell stories about the many sites we visited on the island. I found this site will collecting Mike's background data. I plan to dedicate a section on my website (http://www.HerbMetoyer.com)to him. I plan to...

Mary Kay, I learned of Mike's passing through a note Taffy Nivert sent me a couple of nights ago. Very sorry to hear this. I got to see Mike briefly at a WFMA event in the DC area a few years ago. He seemed very happy to be working at something other than music. Glad I got to hear him work with John back in the day. Hope they're together again pickin' a little. All the best to you and yours.

I was so sorry to hear the news. What a great friend and mentor he was to me years ago when I lived on the island. His smile, energy and passion for helping others was always evident. God bless him and all your family.

Mary Kay, we are so sad to lose such a special man. We will miss him, you are in out thoughts.

Mary Kay, I was shocked to get on the Island Packet website and see that we had lost our dear Mike... It is a great loss to the community, and all of us who knew you and him... Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers... I hope I'll get a chance to talk with you soon... I'm sure you know that I moved away 5 years ago, so I get behind on what's going on..
Much,much love to you, Alicia
