Watching Mike at McNear Park when I was a youngun, be it Army Ball, whiffle ball (not as much) or the hardball diamond, it was all about baseball, all the time. I saw him scale the cyclone fence in DEEPEST right flanking G Street. Didn't catch it, but; "Mays kept it in the park..." His intensity sometimes led to his own play by play. If memory serves me he may(?) have been scratched up pretty good on that play. I am clear on him and the fence, like the time Willie came flying out of nowhere...
