Not sure what to say?

Coach Tichy was very important to my development as an athlete and student at PSC(U). In particular, he wrote several recommendations for me and always was there with advice as I began my teaching career. Our pick up basketball games were always fun, and I do not recall ever beating him in horse. He was my model for my coaching career and was one of the most influential individuals in my life. I owe him very much and do miss him.

Mike was a good friend to our family. He was a kind and generous man. We were very fortunate to have Mike as our friend.

I feel very fortunate to have known Mike. My husband and I were part of the birthday dinner club and we enjoyed many celebrations at the MAC until Mike got sick. He lived a full live and will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Anna Mae and the entire family. We share in your sorrow.
Blessings,

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I wish we could be there for you. I will always remember when I was a little girl and you came to Ohio to see us. I also fondly remember you taking John & I out to dinner and visiting with us while we were in Oregon. I admired uncle Mike so much along with your family which did influence my going into the healthcare field.

Anna Mae and family: I was very fortunate to work with, play handball with, square dance with (remember?) and socialize with. He was a great influence on me and countless others. I will always remember Mike with great affection.

Dr. Tichy was my graduate advisor at PSU. His skilled counsel helped me to receive my Master's Degree, something I never dreamed possible. I went on to spend a 25-year career in the health promotion field. He is one professor I never forgot!

I had Mike for several classes while majoring in Health and PE at Portland State. I thought very highly of him. He always made time to chat, whether about things I may not have understood in class or just to chat socially.
I am very sorry for your loss.

I first met Michael Tichy when he came to PSC in 1957 as professor in the Health and Physical Education Department.
I was a student employee in the Athletic equipment room. We chatted many hours about athletics and family. We played handball and badminton against all challengers. Coach was a fierce competitor.D. Tichy wrote me a fabulous letter of recommendatin to the University of Wyoming Graduate School.I finished my advanced degree in 1973.
I shall always be...
