Some people you meet, and it takes a while to get to know them, or what they're really about. Not true with Mike. Mike was an open book and as friendly as the day is long. As soon as I met Mike, I knew I met a friend. Miss you Moose!

I first met Michael (Moose) when I transferred to Presentation Catholic school in 1977 to play football and basketball for the Trojans. He was an assistant coach for my 7th and 8th grade years, and immediately took to mentoring the newcomers to the team, including me. His level of interest and care were very authentic, given how truly nice a guy he was, and helpful a coach too. My coach eventually became my friend as I moved into Midland high school and beyond, and I will never forget...
