Michael M. Umbaugh, age 66, of Nappanee, died at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 16, 2015 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 30, 1948 in Goshen to John R. and Mary Louise (Scranage) Umbaugh. Mike lived his lifetime in the New Paris/Nappanee area. He was a 1967 graduate of New Paris High School where he played baseball. He married Ann Wagner, January 16, 1971 in Nappanee.

Mr. Umbaugh served in the United States Marines and retired from NIPSCO, where he had worked for 44 years. He was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church where he was active in the Acts 29 Small Church. He loved round table coffee groups. Mike enjoyed camping and fishing and in his younger years had played softball and enjoyed bowling. The family has wonderful memories of Florida vacations at Anna Maria Island.

Mr. Umbaugh is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Brad (Jeff Diez) Umbaugh, New York, Rod (Jamie) Umbaugh, Nappanee, Andy Umbaugh, at home; granddaughters, Kyndra and Karlie Umbaugh; and a sister, Pat Eldridge, Goshen.

Family and friends may call from 2-8 Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel and for 1 hour prior to the 11:00 am Funeral Service, Tuesday, Jan. 20th in the Church Sanctuary. Pastor Dave Engbrecht and Pastor Norm Reimer will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the Nappanee American Legion.

Memorial contributions may be given to Camp Millhouse or Goshen Home and Hospice Care.
