Michael Lyndon "Lyn" Valentine, 45, of Cherryville, North Carolina, a machinist for 26 years at Eaton Corporation in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, died at his residence on Thursday, December 19, 2002. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 2002, 3-5 p.m., at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home, 405 Dixie Street, Cherryville. Lying in state on Sunday, December 22, 2:30-3 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 107 West Academy Street, Cherryville. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, 3 p.m., at the church, officiated by Dr. Bill Lowe. Burial will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain. Masonic rites will take place. Memorial donations are appreciated to Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565 or First Presbyterian Church, 107 West Academy Street, Cherryville, NC 28021. Arrangements entrusted to Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home, Cherryville, North Carolina.
