Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

WARREN, Michael W. Sr.

Our favorite lighthearted trickster "Dewman" Michael Wayne Warren Sr. passed away in the evening of August 17, 2021 after fighting his hardest for two weeks at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital. His siblings, children and especially his grandchildren meant absolutely everything to him. Michael taught his sons and grandchildren how to play many card and board games, and maybe even added in a couple of his own special rules that came up every now and then. He always had a jar of pennies ready to play cards with and tons of mints in his pockets. Some of the people Michael has left a life-lasting impact on: his surviving siblings Bill Warren, Ralph Warren, Pamela (Tim) Jamison, Debra Warren, Jim (Kim) Warren, Timmy (Dawn) Warren, Rich (Peggy) Warren, Rose (Dave) Morris, and Mark Warren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances (Hollar) Warren. Michael passed on his kind heart and strong work ethic to his sons Michael (Christine) Warren Jr. and Gregory (Laura) Warren, who love him more than words could ever express. Above all else, he is always cherished by his all-time favorite people in the world: grandchildren Abigail "stinky feet" Warren, Jackson "booger butt" Warren, Lillian "stinky farts" Warren, and Gabriel "poopy butt" Warren. Among thousands of things he taught his grandchildren in the last 14 years he helped raise them, Michael lovingly taught them how to dislike peas, how to thoroughly enjoy peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches (don’t knock it ‘til you try it), and how to call their aunts "uncle" and their uncles "aunt." He was always loved, and will always be missed.
