There is nary a week that passes that I don't stop to reflect on our friendship since you passed, Mike. Your generous heart, wicked sense of humor, loyalty, and fierce independence are but a few of the traits I miss most. Above all, I miss the friendship that we kindled over the years. Missing you like crazy!

Hey Mike,
You did so much for me I figured I would do one for you! Weird year since you passed on, as always you seem to provide inspiration and opportunity regardless if you are with us physically or spiritually. I thought after a year it would feel a little bit easier, but it doesn't really. I guess that's what made you special.
Your honorable line cook,

Dear Cynthia
I just heard the news this last weekend about Mike's passing. I am so sorry to hear about this tragic event. I tried to call you at the restaurant but I am assuming you are closing the doors. You were both such a great couple and always worked at being good citizens. Please accept my sincere sympathies.

Cynthia, Justin, Cassie and Emma,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mike was a true force in the kitchen. I fondly remember July 4th celebrations at Byan's, and whatever Mike prepared was done to perfection. I am thrilled Mike's passion for culinary art was passed on to Justin and Cassie.
It must be terribly hard to move on without your husband and father, my thoughts are with all of you.

Cynthia,
Janet and I were deeply saddened on hearing of Mike's untimely passing. We met Mike a few years ago at the restaurant, and immediately felt as if we had known him for years. His deep voice, sarcastic commentary and twinkle in his eye were always in evidence as he greeted you warmly. I brought him the "Bend Fish Company" sign that I made for him [just because he was such a good guy], and he greatly appreciated it. I hope that it brightened his day, as he did our every time we...
