Simpsonville, SC - Michael Glenn West, 43, passed away at his home in Simpsonville, SC on June 14, 2016. Michael was born in Wilson, NC to William and Peggy West. He attended E.T. Beddingfield High School and proudly served as a US Navy veteran of Desert Storm and Somalia. He survived Stage 3 Colon Cancer at the age of 26. He received a bachelor's degree in Business Management from East Carolina University. Michael's career included Retail Banking Branch Manager for RBC Bank in Wilmington, NC until 2007, Regional Manager of Retail Operations for PNC Bank on the Outer Banks of NC from 2007-2013, and was presently Vice President of Retail Banking for Park Sterling Bank in South Carolina and Georgia.
Michael was preceded in death by a son, Michael Glenn West, Jr., a miscarried infant, and an uncle, Gene Hayes. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Krista, and daughter, Avery Gracyn, 8 months. He is also survived by his parents William West of Dothan, Al. and Peggy West of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Cathy Price, and husband Donnie, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Bill West, of Wilmington, NC; cousin Teasie Starling, and husband Randy, of Garner, NC; nephew Tyler West of Charlotte, NC; niece Alex Loftin of Wilmington, NC; nephews Logan Loftin, Harrison West, and Colt West all of Wilmington, NC; niece Kenlyn West of Wilmington, NC; cousins Erin, David, Jimmy, Daniel, and Jen Starling of Garner, NC; father-and mother-in-law Bill & Tyresia French; sister-in-law Shannon Glisson, and husband Travis; and nephews Nathan and Grayon Glisson all of Greenville, NC; and an uncle, Albert Hayes and wife, Brenda of Wilson, NC.
Funeral services will be held at Andrews Mortuary and Crematory on College Rd in Wilmington, NC on Saturday, June 18th beginning at 2pm. The service will be officiated by Rev. Gene Williams and Rev. Ben Hill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Hard to believe it´s been almost 6 years. You´ve been on my mind lately. Miss you lots!!
