Not sure what to say?

My condolences to family and friends. I mmet Mike when I was 19 yrs. old and a nursing student in Santa Rosa. My mother made me a Dr.s appointment because I was having problems we thought was gallbladder. I saw Mike a couple of times in the office. He ordered tests, but everything came back negative for gallbladder. At the time I was working at Driftwood nrsg. home and Brookwood. I was at work one day and he came walking down the hall , with a big smile on his face. When I asked him who he...

Served with Mike in Vietnam, 1st Battalion 7th Marines and 3rd Amtracs. One of the few Officers I knew that was respected by his corpsman and patients.

Dr. Witwer saved my life in 1983. I became septic and I thought I had the flu.
I drove to his office without an appointment. Walked into the waiting room sick as a dog with 105 degree temp.

He drove me in his car to Memorial, leaving everyone in the waiting room. He is and forever will be my hero.
He told me that if I waited 2 more hours, I would not have survived. I go to the doctor quickly now that I experienced that episode.

He was a great man. I miss him.

Hello Carol. I thought about you guys a thousand times. Wondering how you were doing. I just found out about Mike yesterday. What a sad day. I hope you and your family are well as can be .

Mike was a very congenial, serious-minded student in our Class of 1967 at Northwestern University Medical School. His remarkable record of accomplishment following graduation comes as no surprise. I join Mike's friends, patients, and professional colleagues in treasuring our privilege of having had him touch our lives and extend condolences to his family.

Mike was our consulting physician when I worked in Santa Rosa. He gave us advice when needed and met weekly with us. I remember the joy and determination in his face when he would talk about the preparations for his marathon runs. So much of his history I did not know and am glad to know now as it fills out his life in my own memories of him. I hope his family is safe from the California fires and share my condolences with them.

Condolences to Carol,Vince,Ellie, and family. We knew Mike as a co-worker,dedicated parent, and a wonderful man.

Dr. Witwer saved my life.
It was in April of 1984 when I went into his office on Sonoma Ave. with a high fever.
Guests were in the waiting room and Dr. Witwer took me to his car and drove me to Memorial Hospital for septicemia.
I only had a few hours and he could not of saved me he said.
Every day since, I think of him and how his decision gave me 33 more years and counting. God bless him. Scott Neuman
