I was a colleague of Mike at Somerville High for many years. He and I painted classrooms together in the summer and enjoyed many wonderful conversations, including stories about history and sports, We would eat our bagged lunches together. The essence of our life lives on in the memories of those who knew us and continue to keep us in their prayers. Uncle Mike is in my prayers daily. Life is eternal and never ending destined to meet again on the great stage of Life.

Bob Zimmerman , former Freeland resident now living in Weatherly, Pa. I am a member of our fledgling Freeland Historical Society. As a part of our mission we are creating a file dealing with Freeland area sports. We are interested in any Freeland sports personages, especially those who had a career in sports after leaving the town. Mike was back in town about 1956 and he, J.C. Uncle Mike will be missed, his life was one of true courage, compassion and love for others. It is the Heart that matters in how we live our life and Uncle Mike's life was reflective of the great potential that lives within the human heart.
