Not sure what to say?

I believe that I was Everlasting Farm's first customer. That day going to work, I spotted a wooden shelved stand roadside in front of the house, which was never there before, in it were cut flowers in Ball Mason jars. I scooped up the biggest one. Michael had the sharpest, dry wit in anyone that I know. One day was his birthday, 11/28, I was helping out, I said that was mine also. It caught him by surprise and said then "that's why we get along so well". Whenever I'd arrive at the...

Gail, as you know Michael was special to me. So many times I'd ask him ?'s and he'd answer as a good Horticulturist would, and then usually offer an unexpected little "ditty" with that twinkle in his eye and the upturn of his lip.

I will miss his Counsel so much. He was a huge influence on my life as I blossomed into Horticulture.

Gail,
I am so sorry for your loss. Michael was truly an inspiration and guide for so many of us 'amateur' gardeners. I looked forward to my annual 'trek' to Everlasting Farm as a rite of spring/passage, and marveled in the tone and atmosphere of tranquility and beauty you both created there. Your love for each other and nature was evident. May you find solace and peace in your new life ahead...

Gail, so sorry to hear of your loss. Michael and you were so helpful when I came to see you. Thoughts and prayers.

Gail and family - I am shocked and saddened that so bright a flame is not with us. I met Mike almost 30 years ago. He was, is, what's the right word -- a true Renaissance person. I looked up to him as both an intellectual and spiritual guide. His sharp mind, original thinking and kind way never failed to leave me a better person after each interaction. Mike made this a better world. I can only imagine the huge gap he leaves in your hearts and your sense of loss. I can only hope that in...
