Not sure what to say?

I remember how clever Michaela was when I knew her in high school. And I remember the last time I saw her: at a reunion party she and Henry threw for our crowd of close friends from high school. Love to Henry, Mary Ella

I knew Michaela in high school, when she was still Michaela Kane. And when she started to date Henry Schaeffer. She was very bright, clever, and witty--an asset to our group of friends. I'm not surprised that she eventually got her doctorate. I was shocked at her death and felt for Henry.

There so much I could say about Dr. Michaela Schaeffer....therapist to me. Years of conversations no subject left untouched. I was a very young woman in the beginning and through her guidance and teachings my growth and development was less painful. Our easy dialog, her funny anecdotes, her right to the heart of the matter approach is why my life is so much better today. I will always be grateful to her, I will always miss her.
My sympathies and my gratitude to the family for sharing...

I was in Mrs. Schaeffer’s bio class in the mid-1960s. I’ve never been a science brain (stereotypical English major who became a librarian), but thanks to Mrs. Schaeffer I became a biology enthusiast. I also loved her wry humor, as when she remarked on the large number of “instant converts” on some minor Catholic holiday when 3/4 of the class (which was not 3/4 Catholic) decided to take the day off. She is the kind of person who made a difference in students’ lives and will be missed, and...

I am shocked and troubled by Michaela's sudden death. Mickey and Henry were dear friends of mine from high-school. I have many wonderful memories of them. We had loads of laughs back then. The last time I saw them was at a high-school reunion of "our crowd" that Mickey and Henry hosted at their home. We haven't been in touch in recent years, but I still feel close. I send my love and wishes to you, Henry at this terribly difficult time in your life.

I'm writing on behalf of the Big Apple Knitters Guild, of which Mickey was a founding member. For years, each December and July, Mickey graciously opened her beautiful home to knitters for a Saturday afternoon of charity knitting, snacking and getting to know one another better; the charity component was very important to her. We have arranged for 5 trees to be planted in Israel in her memory. Our condolences to all Mickey's family and friends. We, too, will miss her very much.

Our American cousin ,

When I was a youngster growing up in Toronto Mickey and Henry were our exotic American cousins , driving from Kansas to Toronto in a red convertible, how cool.
With a beautiful smile almost as big as her heart Mickey was loving , generous and caring to family and friends alike.

You will be missed by all Mickey, rest in peace.

Matt Harris and family.
