Mike was born in Long Beach, California in 1956 and passed away on May 14, 2017 in Sacramento, California. For the last two months Mike had been fighting non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Indications were that he was winning that battle. Unfortunately, complications set in that were irreversible. He fought hard and strong and always with a positive attitude. He is survived by his loving wife Denise, his daughter Jenee Melgoza, his granddaughter Liana, his grandson Coen, and his brother Andre. Mike was predeceased by his father, Gerard, and his mother, Fleur. Mike graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1974 and attended Golden West College in Southern California. His career has always been in appliances, from deliveries to installations and finally in Sales. Since relocating to Sacramento in 1999, he has worked for Masters Wholesale in Rancho Cordova. Mike learned the sports of handball and racquetball at a young age, and became an accomplished player. Eventually he joined a league and won himself at least one trophy. After starting his family he continued to play recreationally whenever he could. Over the last few years he returned to playing racquetball regularly with some of his co-workers. Mike has always been interested in airplanes and flying, spending time at airports with his dad or brother from time to time. While he desired a career in aviation, that wasn't meant to be. However his love for the sport led him to start lessons, purchase his own plane, eventually earning his airman's certificate in 2012. He's been enjoying the sport of flying with his wife and friends ever since. Mike loved the Lord Jesus. He read his bible, prayed often, and treated others kindly. God was a tremendous source of comfort and support to him especially during his recent health battle. He had accepted the fact that this great challenge was before him, but he trusted in God that there was a purpose in it, even if he didn't understand it. Rest In Peace

Not sure what to say?

Michel, you were in my dream last night. You we're singing while playing a guitar. It was dark and some of the crew from masters were there, along with others that were there for the late night event. We were sitting in chairs at tables just listening. I was crying my eyes out because I knew you were dead and it was so sad to see you. You singing, tells me you're doing more than ok and glad you are doing well. Still think of you and wish you were still here. Phillip and I have the most...

I am so upset that I was not aware of Mike's passing until now. He was always such a joy to talk with over the phone; he never ceased to make me smile and offer so much to any of our company gatherings. Mike was my rep for nearly five years, and my heart goes out to his family. He truly missed.

Janice and I were thinking about you guys and just looked you up and found out about Mike passing. We were stunned to find out.
We wish you the best and hope you are well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with You!! So sadden to hear of Mikes passing. I really loved working with him and all our homeowners said what a joy it was picking their appliances with him. He always went above and beyond and we will never forget him. So sorry to have missed his celebration of life.

Continuation from Bill Bardin-
Mike enjoyed his plane very much and finished his flight training with his own plane. We shared a hangar together, and his kindness still touches my life today, as I'm sure it does for many. Because of Mike my hangar is carpeted, furnished with a refrigerator, and a shop vacuum. And because of Mike my home has a nice dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Mike didn't have to, but he came to my home himself to do these things and make sure they were done right....

Mike was one of the most positive minded individuals I have ever met. I did not see huge swings in this attitude. His average day was more upbeat and more positive than anyone I knew. I think that is what makes this loss so much more profound. It was the loss of somebody that was such a positive influence on so many lives. When that light goes out, and is no longer in our presence, the room is darker and we feel it. My challenge to all of you is, let's not let the room get darker. Mike...

It is both heartwarming and heartbreaking to read all these wonderful stories about my brother-in-law. I sat down to write this a few different times at work and after reading these many stories, I just got too emotional to remain composed enough to leave my own message. Mike is the first sibling (in-law) we have lost. We all assume we will have our whole lifetime to spend with our loved ones and tell them how much they mean to us, but tomorrow is promised to no one.
What a great man....

Mikey, I am still in shock from hearing this news. You werehonestly one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I never once heard you say anything negative about anybody. You turned into a pretty darn good softball player too! You were a great listener and would give the shirt off your back to anybody who asked for it. We are all going to miss you. Denise, Nicole and I have been thinking about you. We are so sorry. Please let us know if you need anything at all.

My heart is heavy with the sad news of Mike. Many condolences to his family. He was such a gentle, kind spirit. I cannot imagine coming into the showroom without his friendly manner and smile.
