Michele was born in San Francisco, CA on February 11, 1940, and was reunited with the love of her life Larry, on October 24, 2021. Michele passed peacefully in Petaluma with her children by her side. Born and raised in San Francisco, she attended Mercy High School and San Francisco State. After Larry and Michele were married, they moved to San Anselmo and ultimately settled in San Rafael. They spent the next 54 years together until Larry’s passing in 2014. Michele was a big part of the family businesses, James L Callan & Sons Jewelers in San Rafael, Sharks Deli in Tiburon, and LJ’s Deli in San Rafael. Michele enjoyed socializing, crossword puzzles, and Friday night bowling league. Michele was a devoted sports fan. She enjoyed watching golf and loved her San Francisco Giants and 49ers. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Elizabeth Clark, her husband Larry Callan and her grandson Brett James Callan. She is survived by her sister Eileen McHale. Her children Karen Hegarty (Steven), Kim Callan, LJ Callan (Julie). Her grandchildren, Jeffrey Hegarty (Colleen), Ashley Hegarty (Wes), Alexander Callan (Rachelle), Heather Callan, and Nicole Buchanan (Tyler). She was blessed with five great grandchildren, Brett Alexander Callan, Julia Hegarty, Theodore Buchanan, Miles Dibble, Lyla Hegarty and numerous nieces and nephews. 


We would like to thank the staff at Our House, in Petaluma for the excellent required care that Mom received over the last 17 months of her life.  In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Michele’s name to the charity of your choice. Services and a celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, 11:00A.M. @ St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1104 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, California.
