Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Michele Pyle, 76, of Ballwin, MO, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, in her home.

On November 26, 1944, she was born to James E. and Ruth E. (Genet) Pyle, while her father was deployed as a pilot in the Army Air Corps, serving in Indo-China.

Following the war, Ruth and Jim raised Michele in Evansville Indiana. Michele was a graduate of Evansville Reitz Memorial High School Class of 1962. She attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and graduated from Lockyear’s Business College in 1965.

Michele’s dream of seeing the world was fulfilled when she joined The Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. During her 25 years of service to the Agency, she was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand and Frankfurt, Germany, plus trips to other areas.

Upon retirement, Michele settled in the St. Louis area to be close to her parents. There she developed many new friendships and enjoyed traveling to see the country she loved and her friends and family. She was very proud of the special relationship she had established with the St. Louis County Police Department and the women, men and friends of the department.

She is survived by her cousins, Steve (Fran) Genet and Ray (Mary Ann) Genet and cousin-in-law Patricia Genet. She is preceded in death by her parents and her cousin Philip Genet.

Not sure what to say?

I have only known Michele a few years, as I am new to the area. I joined her PEO Chapter HE of which she was an active member. She was always friendly and had a story to share. I wish I had more time to get to know her better. She will be missed by our Chapter.

I am a former colleague of Michelle’s when we were in the Federal Government. I truly enjoyed working with her and the good times we had being ‘young ladies’. She was a dear friend and confidant. My condolences to the family. God Bless

Michele was a "Mom" to all three of my sons who at various times were assigned to the 7th precinct.
Sometime after Moms Back The Blue was formed, I asked my son if he thought the lady who was donating so much to their precinct would be interested in joining our group. He asked her and gave me her phone number.
I called her and that began my close friendship with Michele.
Michele was the most generous person I have ever known. She once told me when I expressed my thanks for...

Michele was my godmother & was family. She loved to take me back to school shopping as a kid, buying me all the “cool” clothes that my mom would never go for! I have countless memories of growing up with her & am thankful my own kids got to meet her. I will miss her forever. ❤

I have been thinking about Michele everyday. It is just hard to believe she is gone from our world. She was such a good and kind person who loved to help others. I met Michele thru my daughter ,Megan, who was her neighbor. I am lucky to call her my friend and she is a person I will long remember. Heaven has a new angel and I’m sure the men in blue greeted her with open arms.

Michele was such a good friend. I met her at work many years ago, she was a very kind and caring person. She was a friend that could always be counted on. One didn't have to guess where they stood with her. She was always ready to stand her ground whenever she felt it necessary--whether for herself or for a friend. She was always ready to pitch in and help whatever the job. I know in recent years how much she loved getting to know the police officers she called her "kids" and I know...

17 years ago I moved into the condo next to Michele. She was 30 years older than I, and we were both single. Michele was always looking after me and my place. The meals she made when we were expecting snow were amazing! When I got married and moved away, she was the first person to bring us a meal in our new home, and promised we would always remain close friends. She was definitely a part of our family, and shared so many holidays with my entire extended family.
When our son was...

Michele and I met working on a task force. I have two special memories of Michele. Whenever one or both of us needed some "giggle time," we headed to the Imaginarium in Tysons Mall and we'd walk through the store singing (loudly) along with Randy Newman's kids songs and playing with all the gadgets and then leave still laughing. I cried the day they closed that store but I knew in my heart Michele was still singing with me anytime I pulled out a tape of our favorite songs. For my 50th...

Michele and I were friends for almost 50 years. We met while stationed in Frankfurt, Germany in 1973 and immediately became fast friends, traveling around Europe every pay day. We were both only children and she was truly my ‘sister’, as I was hers. Our parents became friends as well. Michele was my daughter’s Godmother and spoiled her every chance she got. Now my daughter has two children of her own and, of course, she spoiled them too! After Michele retired and moved to St. Louis, I...
