My heart breaks for you all...we shared a special friendship over the past years Mish always shared her kindness and knowledge and always helped me understand the Veterinarian world. We shared many pet photos and always kept in touch with fun text throughout the years. I will truly miss her

I knew Michelle professionally for approximately 6 years. She spearheaded the collaboration between the NIH, FDA and academic researchers in pain and veterinary medicine. Her contributions to studying pain in animals and relieving their suffering are numerous. She was an organizer, motivator, contributor, and leader. Her accomplishments have enhanced the research of thousands, the impacts of which will be felt for generations. Thank you Michelle, you will be sorely missed.

I was a an angry and hurting teen when I met Mish junior year at Notre Dame. My parents had just separated and moved me to new high school. This was a real turning point for me, and I will be forever grateful. Mish and I kept in touch after graduation from NDA and she was even present the night my husband to be proposed to me! St Patrick´s Day 1991. So,...

Michelle was a classmate of mine at Notre Dame. We used to pick her up on Doe Run Ln. and she would ride to school with us. A beautiful & intelligent woman. God bless.

Very sorry about the passing of Michele Sharkey. Dr. Sharkey was kind enough to help me with our dog, Buddy. We were having difficulty understanding the status of his condition from our local Vet. Dr. Sharkey was kind enough to take time out of her Sunday and speak to me over the phone regarding congestive heart failure in dogs. Her advice and suggestions were immensely helpful to us. I remember toward the end of our conversation she left me with a parting thought that has stayed with me...
