Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

MICHELLE FEINS

On August 11, 2019, at home--just as she wished, surrounded by her husband of almost 65 years and children.

Beloved daughter of Jerome and Betty Sinsheimer and favorite sister of Warren (Flo) Sinsheimer.

Mickey was raised in New Rochelle, NY and attended Emma Willard School and Connecticut College. She was a speech pathologist and audiologist who initially taught at Seton Hall University and subsequently practiced in the public schools.

A masterful and tireless planner, Mickey dried her sink, fed chipmunks from her hand, owned a pick up truck for no good reason, paid the tolls of cars behind her (before EZPass and SunPass), went falconing, kept her air conditioning on overdrive, picked wild blueberries, sent the best care packages to camp and college, and was the first woman Rotary president in New London, NH. She was a regular at MacKenna's Restaurant, hosted campers and counselors on their days off,  played the flute in community bands, collected antiques, brought in her elderly neighbor's newspapers, enjoyed Grunings chocolate chip ice cream, sang silly family songs in harmony, made German chocolate birthday cakes, paid $1 for the 5 cent pillows at the New London Barn Playhouse, had a soft heart for eclectic folks, maintained lifelong friendships with her college roommates, looked forward to daily phone calls from her brother, and made everyone she was with feel loved and appreciated. Always.

Mickey is survived by her husband, Martin, children Jeffrey (Lynda) Feins, Nancy (Dale) Adler, Jon (Amy) Feins; grandchildren Ben (Nicole) Feins, Elyssa (Mike) Nadler, Casey Feins, Elizabeth (fiance Alex Hinton), Anna, Oliver and Adam Feins, Daniel (Michele) Adler, Jonathan and Emily Adler; four-and-a-half great-grandchildren and her favorite "governess" Margaret.

In lieu of flowers please perform an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for a stranger or a friend.

Not sure what to say?

Mickey, at this writing you are a great, great grandmother yet again! Daniel has added another member to the roster: Miles Morris Adler. He is adorable...you would be so proud. I think of you often and cherish the relationship of our families keeping up with Nancy etal regularly. I miss your sunny smiling face; wonderful warmth and hugs! Love always, Amy

I was so sorry to hear of Mickeys passing. May you be comforted with all your memories and love and Gods grace.

I always hoped to give her another hug. My heart is with you all at this time and I wish I had been able to come for the gathering in New London! Mickey was a beloved friend of our family and I was very fond of her. She was a kind and loving person who will be missed greatly! Martin and family, my most sincere condolences and love to you all.

I am so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful lady. I first met Mickey when I worked at Foxchase and had a special bond with her Mom, Betty. What a truly amazing family. I am forever thankful for what they did for me as a young woman, and am Glad I can say I knew Mickey and her Mom.

Remembering My dear friend Mickey and all the beautiful moments spent in her and Martys company whether in New London or Naples and even before then, in Maplewood. With much affection to her treasured family, and my deepest sympathy for our great loss, Barbara Palmer Kramer

Condolences to Marty and family. Mickey could always light up whatever space she walked through. It was always a joy to see her in the store.

The obituary is a wonderful tribute. Many thoughts come to mind from reading it such as....unique, eclectic, generous, talented, fun, good, and meaningful. I only knew Mrs. Feins this last year; I missed a lot. Please accept my sincere sympathy on Michelle's death.

Our love and prayers go out to the Feins' family. Mickey was the most remarkable women, she was such a great friend and sister in Christ. She was the most loving and supportive friend to our whole family. She got me my first job in NH as her speech/language assistant, and patiently taught me each and every day. She provided work for all our children, Scott, Robin, Troy and especially Noel. Each and everyone loved her and we can still hear her infectious laugh today. We cried and...
