FESSENDEN - Michelle Antoinette Lamm, 59, Fessenden, died Nov. 22, 2011, at her home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Fessenden.

Michelle Custer was born June 10, 1952, in Dickinson, the daughter of Mike and Anne Marie (Kostelecky) Custer, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Belfield, enjoying reading and riding horses, attended and graduated from Belfield High School, home of the Belfield Bantams, and later graduated from Capitol Commercial College in Bismarck.

Michelle met the love of her life, Kelly Lamm, in June 1977 and later married him on June 22, 1984. They raised two daughters, Amanda and Hannah. Michelle loved riding motorcycle with Kelly, taking long peaceful walks on country roads and lived for a hot windy day on the prairie. She excelled in careful study of her family's genealogy, discovering many previously lost family stories and relations. Michelle was deeply kind-hearted toward animals and fed the birds without fail every winter.

She enjoyed clerical jobs, working at Crowler Insurance in Bismarck, Edinger Insurance, Fessenden Farm Service Agency, St. Aloisius Hospital, Helm Flying and her favorites, Wells County Deputy Clerk of Court and Deputy Recorder in Fessenden.

Michelle is survived by her husband; her daughters, Amanda Lamm and Hannah (Ben) Drager, Fargo; as well as nine sisters and three brothers, Yvonne Hong, Fargo, Yvette Schwartz, Ellensburg, Wash., Collette Turner, Post Falls, Idaho, Paulette Oleson, Sidney, Mont., Renee Reetz, Baker, Mont., Elaine Custer, Rapid City, S.D., Anthony Custer, Belfield, Simone Henderson, Saltville, Va., Patrick Custer, Baker, Mont., Madonna Kranz, Riverton, Wyo., Alphonse Custer, Mandan, and Therese Miller, Mandan. Michelle is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ron Lamm, Fessenden; her sisters-in-law, Ammy Lamm, Fessenden, Rhonda Hughes, Fountain Hills, Ariz., Rachel Weed, Burlington, and Lori Due, Fargo; and special friends, Curt Heck, Langdon, and Hal Heitmann, Tucson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, John Claire. (Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden)
