TRAVERSE CITY — Michelle Lyn Mons, 34, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, as the result of injuries sustained during an automobile accident.

Michelle was born June 17, 1972, to Edwin O'Daniel and Josie Flees in Traverse City. Michelle entered into marriage with Thomas, a marriage ending in divorce, but resulting in two wonderful children, Ashley and Brandon.

From a young age, Michelle took an interest in horses and even taught herself to ride. She was often found working away at her country cross-stitch or cheering on number 8 in any NASCAR race.

Michelle absolutely adored and loved her two children, and couldn't be any more proud than when she was watching them grow. Her wonderful smile and outgoing attitude will be deeply missed.

Michelle is survived by her two precious children, Ashley and Brandon; mother, Josie (Paul) Martin, all of Traverse City; father, Edwin O'Daniel of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandmothers, Maybelle Flees and Barbara Martin, both of Traverse City; brother-in-law, Matthew Garrisi; niece, Heather Garrisi; and several aunts, uncles and other loving family members and friends.

Michelle was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Garrisi; and two nephews, Jesse and Tommy Garrisi.

Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Division at 14th Street, with the Rev. Richard Rice officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Women's Resource Center or to the family.

The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home; www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com.
