Im Lindsay, the granddaughter of Miguel Mercado. Its been 10 years since my grandfather has passed and as each day goes by I think of him more and more. I came across this website and saw all the wonderful things you said about him. Reading these comments brought me back to when we would eat slices of cheese in the mornings and when he would leave to work with his green thermos. The day he didnt come back home, it brought my world to pieces. But knowing that all of these people care for him...

Just 2 weeks ago, Miguel told me stories of his life in Porto Rico and how much he loved his father. He told me that his father was his friend and taught him everything he knew. With sorrow in his voice, he told me he missed his father greatly. Now we have sorrow as we talk about Miguel and how he was the hardest worker in Transportation Tech Services Section. Miguel was very proud that he put out more traffic counts than anyone since the city started putting out count equipment. He was...
