Dear Mikayla,
I was at the cemetery today where I went to look for my friend who passed away last month at age 31. It's also been a year today since my long term boyfriends wake. Prior to that two friends of mine had passed in their late 20's early 30's. I came across your resting place and saw a picture of a beautiful young woman with a crescent moon. I did not know you, but I know the struggle. I know I'm a stranger..but I want you to know that you were never alone, and my heart goes...

I met Mikki in Barcelona this spring and she instantly had an impact on me. I don't think I could do justice to her personality, her aura, or the effect she had on people just through my words. She had a truly beautiful soul and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know her, even if it was only for a brief period of time. To all of her friends, family, and anyone she touched--my thoughts are with you. Fly high, beautiful. We miss you more than you could imagine.
