The Bartik family were my neighbor when Mike and I were in high school. He was a great guy, a terrific (but not perfect) help to his Dad and a fun friend. I am so glad we will meet again in heaven! And I pray that the wonderful memories will buoy his family and carry them every day.

Dear Bartik Family, We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. We never got to spend as much time with y'all as we would have liked to, seems everyone went off in their own direction, but when we did get together with any of the Bartiks, a good time was had by all. Thankfully, and as Mike would have it, our faith is strong and it informs us that we shall all meet again. Until then, our deepest condolences are with the Bartik Family, as are our prayers. RIP High on the Mountain our Paladin Brother Bruce L

Mike and I came to Furman in August 1970 as wide eyed freshmen me a QB and he a wide receiver - we became best friends and remained so till this day - played in the FFPA golf with Ted Charles and others - he always tried to show me the light and for that I am eternally grateful - RIP my friend you will be missed but I know you rest in the Lord's hands as you always told me all of us would as long as we knew our savior - thanks Mike!

Mike and I were best buddies at Furman. Roomies, baseball teammates, and shared our souls.I was a regular guest at his home in Decatur, Georgia. His family treated me like their son. I named my first child, Michael, after him. Mike is in peace now. Amen Mark A. Bonn, Ph.D.
