Not sure what to say?

I recall watching his national geographic shark documentary and I loved it! I hope hes smiling down from above

All these years later, I'm spending a Saturday reading, watching, and looking at everything I can find about a lovely man who was born and raised in the same town as I, Mobile AL. The third of four brothers, Mike was an acclaimed cinematographer whose documentaries about the ocean are well-known around the globe and are such a joy to watch. It is a great loss to us all that Mike died in a heliocopter crash in 2012.

U died loving what u did. Say hi and tell my dad Israel Flores I love him when u get to paradise. My condolences

This is about ten years too late. But I dived against Mike while I was at East Carolina University and while he would beat me rather handedly-he was always gracious and a fierce, fearless competitor, He threw some dives that were incredible. He then went onto become someonje special after school. May God bless his family and give them comfort and bless Mike for loving the oceans and waterways our Lord created.

Miss you and watching your adventures.

i just now learned about his passing: I met him when I was a diver at Duke; we competed with Mike; Mike was a lot better than I was; but he treated everyone with respect and kindness! What a great person! My best to all his family.

I have just now learned of this loss to a Family, Friends and to Mother Earth and her Creatures, especially the swimmers. My hope is that the loss of this amazing and dedicated man will be tempered by his huge contributions to help give us what we now know about so many aspects of nature. I know he will be over-seeing anything he can on future research! Tashi Delek.Thanks/Pilamaya, Mike!

Its hard to believe that you've been gone for nearly a year now. As I fished with my father on his boat when I was a boy off the coast of Cape May,NJ, we used to laugh and joke about how some lucky men got paid to do this every day. I cherish those memories, and you always made me think of them when I saw you on Nat Geo Channel doing what you loved to do. God rest your soul,Mike. Oceanic programs on TV owe you much, and they will never be the same without you.
