Not sure what to say?

Still remembering Mike's sense of social justice AND his sense of humor. Having just loss my younger brother, I am keenly aware that grief/grieving is an on-going process. Sending much love during this holiday season. Mike was a good guy!

I remember when Mike and Barbara and the girls drove to Nashville to meet with me about my Vanderbilt internship at BS-C. They drove up in their VW square back and had issues with it. After some hours at the shop, Mike and Barbara decided to buy a new car due to the cost/dividend of repairs. I felt badly for them, Mike simply said,"Thom, sometimes it´s best to just buy a new car." I used that line a few times in my life when repairs or "fixes" just weren´t enough. Miss Mike and Barbara and...

Mike Harper was enjoyable as the man who had answers. He would often have the last say-so in our conversations when he was at Independent Living. However that was probably due to his extensive education and ministry experiences. He was always filled with advice and cared for others with what wisdom he had attained. He has been someone we will continue to miss. If there is any way for Fair Haven to help with family needs please contact me; John Garwick, Chaplain at Fair Haven Retirement...

Kristen and Kelly, Your dad was my mentor as chaplain intern t BSC. I´d met your mom while doing I ten there and she was in group it´s me ms one other seminrian. I last spoke with your dad eight years ago about Powells books in Portland,Oregon where I lived at the time. Over my 42 years of chaplaincy I often refers to some of your mom and dads phrases. He loved that Yielding Chapel was in alongside of astronomy building in that both sought out truth at the edges. You two and your families...

I first met Mike at Camp Sumatanga, and we subsequently became fraternity brothers at `Southern. He was probably the most energetically positive person I have ever known. I am sorry to learn of this.

Mike and I were in the same Sunday school class as boys and his love for God stood out among the class.

I am deeply saddened at learning about the passing of Mike.! While I have been away from Birmingham for over 20 years, I remember Mike´s loving and caring spirit and his continual fight for social justice! I also remember his sense of humor! RIP my dear friend! RIP

Offering my deepest sympathy to the Harper family in this time of grief. May you find peace in God during this most difficult time.

Kristin & Reggie, sending you all my love and hugs. so sorry
