To Mrs. Colonel Hicks and His Family. I am just now finding out about the death of "MY COMMANDING OFFICER", Capt/Col Mike Hicks. Captain Hicks(former rank) was my Commander on board the USS New Jersey(BB-62) in Beirut, Lebanon, back in 1983. We went ashore together that awful day, Capt Hicks in charge. My deepest sympathies to the Hicks family. When My husband, Col Paul Puckett, died unexpectedly 9 years ago this November Mike was one of the first to call and express his sympathy.
As word spread here at HQMC the stories about him started. So many have so much to share about him.
