Mike Ronald Lewis, 76, of Gloucester passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at home, surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A resident of Virginia for over 40 years, he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, retiring after 22 years of service as a Master Chief. He then continued his service to his country as a civilian working at NAVAIR and NRL, working in the field of electronic warfare.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Wendy, and their children, Marcy Lewis Glover and Heather Robinette, grandchildren, Brenden and Brooklyn Robinette, daughter-in-law Barbara Nichols-Lewis and her children, Troy and Marranda, and his brothers Lionel “Lee” Lewis and Robert Hydrick. He is predeceased by his son, Mitchell Lewis, his brothers Wade Lewis and Bobby Lewis, and his parents, Thomas Lewis and Sula Genevia Murray.
Mike, having served two tours during the Vietnam War, will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the PKD (polycystic kidney disease) Foundation in his memory.
