Not sure what to say?

In late 60's early 70's in Tipton, Cal. at Gem State Stables, one of his Dads races, we had such fun times hanging out w/horses & envious of his Mustang Shelby. FAST forward & I have raised my kids, realized a successful career, & now realized a dream to be a owner. Still in Tulare Co., still friends w/ the Schott brothers. I regret I never saw him again when he left Tipton, but the passion for our sport was ignited & furthered by his passion. May God Bless & carry his beautiful family forward.

Joel passed away 10/13/2012. also of a brain tumor.he always talked about how Mike was at the car racetrack in Pomona..he loved Mike..God Bless you

My heart felt thoughts are with Mikes family.I got to know Mike a number of years back when he trained horses for some very good friends. The one memory that stands out besides tho obvious "winning"ways of Mike was his total devotion to Denise and his daughters. He will be missed by many.

We are sorry we could not make Mikes service. Mike's smile a and kindness will always live on in our memories. Mike will never be forgotten and his family will always be a reflection of Mikes spirit. We will miss you Mike.

I would like to add another perspective about Mike that not too many people were aware of.

When Mike was about 16 years old he was introduced to Drag Racing. He also loved taking photos of the race cars in action. Mike would show up at Lion's Drag Strip in Long Beach every Saturday night. One of his favorite photo locations was lying on the edge of the track and shooting the cars as they accelerated past him. Pretty harrowing, but he got some great photos.

Mike was a great horseman, but more important to me he was a great friend. We had a lot of laughs together that I shall always cherish. Mike had one of the great laughs of all time. My sincere and deepest condolences to Denise and the girls.
