His nephew Eric Varner and I, his nephew by marriage, deep mourn the loss of our beloved uncle, a man of rare wit and charm whose affability and kindness served to make him loved and respected by all those who had the good fortune to know him. May he rest in peace and be surrounded by perpetual light and love. May flocks of angels sing his sweet soul to sleep.

So sorry to read that Mike had passed. He was a great teammate and person. Rest in peace Mike.

Mike, when we huddle again, you throw me a quick pass on a fade out and I promise not to drop it... providing of course that Greg Porte and Don Maddalena hold the line on my side... We had fun so many years ago. You are a loss to so many.

Mike, I will miss you until we see each other again. You were more like a brother to me than a cousin. We had so much fun together growing up. Say 'hi' to your folks and Mom and Pop for me.

Going back many years in downtown San Luis Obispo history, I believe Mike's mother worked for a time with the United Meat Market in the 700 block of Higuera Street. Our condolences to Mike's family.
