Obituary

Mildred N. Beckman, 92, of Viewcrest Health Center, formerly of Hermantown Road, Duluth died on Jan. 19, 2008 She was born Jan. 24, 1915 in New Effington, S.D. to Helmer and Sarah Buran. Millie married Louis A. Beckman on Sept. 2, 1939 and raised three daughters. Mildred worked at Engwall Greenhouse and Halverson Trees. She was a member of the Son's of Norway and Cotton Seniors. Mildred loved to fish at Cresent Lake and Whiteface Flowage. She loved gardening, but traveling in her motor home was her biggest joy. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; parents; 3 brothers, Harold, Chester and Lyle Buran; and a sister, Delores McLaughlin. She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Dale) Hall of Vancouver, Wash., Sandy (Mark) Baker of Esko, Minn. and Christa (Jack) Williams of Virginia, Minn.; three brothers, Melvin Buran of California, Robert (Bess) Buran of Duluth and Russell (Tink) Buran of California, Eunice Hoban of Wisconsin and Shirley Mellsmoen of Aurora, Minn.; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Viewcrest Health Center for the loving care of their mother and grandmother. SERVICES:Private family services will be held in May.
