Not sure what to say?

I took two terms of calculus taught at PSU by Mrs. Bennett beginning the Fall Term of 1968. I was impressed by her enthusiasm for teaching, her warmth, and her sense of humor. I decided to major in mathematics, earning BS and MS degrees in mathematics. I considered Mrs. Bennett to be one of my favorite instructors during my six years of mathematics studies at PSU. I thank you Mrs. Bennett!

To Mildred Bennett, a magnificent Human Being who showed me that I was much better than I suspected. thank you Mildred. May you find peace with your loved ones.

Mrs. Bennett was a great Girl Scout leader. She taught us a lot and I know I was influenced more than I realize by her guidance and mentoring during those formative years. She was the very best for me and I cherish the great memories of her patience and talents that she so willing shared.

We are so very sorry for your loss.

Mildred was an exceptional person who left an imprint on many, many lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time

Mildred was a wonderful teacher of math. Having always had difficulty with the subject, I dreaded college math classes. After taking Mildred's classes and getting involved in tutoring citys kids through her, I enjoy math and use some of her math games in my own classroom now.
I admired her ability to continue to teach well, even into her retirement.

Although I never met Mildred, she touches my life, and the life of many Portland State University students every day. As director of the Mildred L Bennett Math Resource Lab, it is my pleasure and privilege to continue her vision of making math and math educational materials available to the students and faculty of Portland State and to educators in the Portland community. People often come by the lab and tell me what a great teacher and inspiration she was to them and how she touched their...

Dear Ruthanne, Edie, Kathleen and Mary Helen, Your mom was a very special person--one who surely has left a significant legacy in the lives of many, many people. We are grateful to have known her and our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult days of getting used to her final "graduation".
With love and best wishes, Jack and Ruth

Ruthanne, what a wonderful celebration of Mildred's life you organized. She was a unique lady - I'm glad we had the chance to enjoy her at Encore and hear all of the inspiring stories at the memorial tonight.

I was in Mrs. Bennett's Girl Scout troop. (64-68). We had a wonderful time, I made some wonderful friends and some of the camp songs still swirl around in my head. She put up with alot from us with humor and warmth.
