Great Aunt Mildred's farm always held adventures, whether having a summer picnic out on the old wooden spools, zipping around on the golf cart to see the zucchini, taking a walk through the corn down to the creek, or listening to stories as we admired the flowers in her yard. Aunt Mildred loved to laugh and share her opinion, even if her thoughts were uttered with a hush -- I loved that about her. We moved into Mildred's neighborhood 20 years ago and had many opportunities to enjoy her friendship and listen to stories of her extensively full life. She always invited me to pursue game on her property and generally seemed happy to receive venison, pheasants and occasionally fresh fish for her supper.
