Just bought her book! Just like Millie and my mom, Estelle Bamberg, I've followed in their footsteps by becoming a writer and remember their friendship was the best. Millie once wrote in my diary that I was her friend since 1955, the day I was born. I loved her.

As a kid she was my favorite person in the whole world. I remember her fondly!

My "Aunt Mildred" (actually my second cousin, the beloved "cousin more like a sister" of my mother Helen Winfree Hubbard) was always a beautiful, mysterious presence in my life. I rarely got to see her, having grown up worlds away in Alabama. My mother adored her, and they remained in close touch over the years and miles.
