Mildred was my aunt by marriage but she made me feel like I was her own niece. I loved to go to her house because she was so gracious and glad to have everyone in her home. I remember the fourth of July parties she would host on the lake. It thrilled her to have everyone there; the more the merrier. She was the epitome of southern hospitality. Even though we have been separated over the years geographically, I have missed her and I hope she knew how much I loved her. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Mildred was my dear friend and I will miss her so much. We talked about antiques, rug hooking, the past, the present and the future. We laughed and we cried. There isn't enough room to write all that I should about Mildred. She was tough at times but always had a good heart. She loved her family and friends. I loved her very much and I will miss my friend.

This woman was the kindest funniest Aunt a person could have. She always had such patience when all the cousins would swarm her house. And if she didn't laugh at your jokes she at least gave you that quirky look that you knew she was listing even if she didn't approve. My family loved to hear that Aunt Mildred was coming to visit and had treasures in her luggage (and taco shells). At least one night in her visit we could all eat as many "Aunt Mildred's Tacos" as we wanted. She would...
