General Hartinger and Mickey were the "father & mother" figures for Air Force Space Command. Their inspired leadership in the office and in social settings set the tone for our beloved Space Command forever. I was honored to have General Hartinger pin my Colonel's Eagles on my shoulders. The "Grrr" and Mickey set the standard for what it means to be an Air Force Famil.

CINCNORAD General Hartinger & Carol, 1982
My best friend, Karen King, and I first met Mickey and Gen Hartinger in 1980 when we worked at HQ NORAD. Although we were only secretaries, Mickey treated us as good friends with kindness. We have so many memories of Mickey and Gen Hartinger at both military and social functions. She was always full of fun, laughter, and compassion. She invited me to the ceremony to rename Peterson AFB's Building 1 as The Hartinger Building, and even had a reserved parking space for me--quite an honor for...

Gen James Hartinger & Carol Clewley Todd, 1981
My best friend, Karen King, and I first met Mickey and her husband, Gen Hartinger, when we worked at Hq NORAD in the 1980's. We were only secretaries but Gen Hartinger and Mickey treated us as good friends. We had many wonderful times together at military & social functions--unforgettable memories to this day. Mickey was always full of fun and laughter, kind and loving. She took this photo of me and her husband when he was awarded his 4th star.

I first met Mickey in the early 90's while employed as an Interior Designer with Ethan Allen. I loved helping her over many, many years with her home. I thought of her as more than just a client and she always asked about my children and grand children. May she rest in peace.
