Not sure what to say?

There are so many memories of Gram and Grandpa, that I have recalled many of them over the past month. The family gathering at Christmas time, the time I spent with them in Aurora, IL., when Grandpa was building one of many Pepperidge Farm Factories. Each time we learned something from each one of them. I will miss Gram as much as Granpa but know that they are in my thoughts each an every day.
With Love Always
Robert K. Hines

I admired Gram because of her determination, independence, and spunky attitude! She had a great sense of humor and a way about her that would put a smile on your face. Gram was never afraid to speak her mind, right a wrong, and stand up for her beliefs. She could make you laugh, make you cry, and make you feel like you were loved with just her eyes. What a wonderful lady. I will miss her, but I know she is with the One she loves now and that is comforting.

Gram always reminded...

Gram was a true inspiration in my life starting from early childhood when we would attend church with her and Pa. I have many cherished memories of time spent with Gram and conversations that we had.

When I had doubts about being in the military and honoring God's law of thou shalt not kill, it was Gram who I turned to for help. She did some "investigating" as she called it and sent me several articles from the Christian Science Jornals. They eased my heavy heart and I am...

Gram,
I know you are having a wonderful reunion with Pa and Our Heavenly Father! Pa is a very lucky man to have you back with him, but we here on earth are missing you terribly...

I will forever miss hearing you say " I love you "!

I love and miss you dearly your oldest Granddaughter,

Jo Lynn

Mom, I will miss our every morning chat to see how things are going. It will be difficult not to reach for the phone. I will miss you dearly and all out fun camping trips. You were such an inspiration to all of us. Love you and miss you. Your daughter, Pat

Mom Hines was like a mother to me instead of a mother-in-law. Her support, prayers, patience and love will never be forgotten. We will miss her more than I can express.

The love & respect, and joy & sorrow, shown at Mom’s memorial overwhelmed me with emotion but did not surprise me. Mom was the “glue” that made us the family that we are and held us together for so many, many years. Her strong faith in God, her belief in the solidarity of family, and her desire that we meet her high standards were taught to all of us from an early age. We are a large, sometimes cantankerous, family who pulled together and gave our precious Mother/Mom/Gram/Grandma a...

At the memorial, I mentioned that Mildred Francis Lucille Pierson Hines answered to many names. These included Millie, Mother, Mom, Grandma and Gram, but I will always fondly remember Gram as "the General".

I wish to thank my cousins for reminding me of another, more adventure-filled nick-name - Junebug. I'd like to think that Junebug and the Plano Rambler are finally travelling together again.

Gram

A beacon of light in a dimly lit world.
Living her life as an example to all.
The voice of wisdom in turbulent times.
Gram never preached she accepted us all.
Strength of character few could match.
Deep held beliefs that none could sway.
Telling us stories of our dads as boys.
My partner at Jakes for burgers and shakes.
Time marches on we all must succumb.
Cheers to you Gram on a job well done.
