I am also a product of the Mildred Johnson School of Charm. I traveled from my neighborhood in Fifth Ward to Third Ward to be coached by 'The Best!' It was there that I learned how to properly enter a room and sit in a chair and more... I have never forgotten that 'edge' on making your presence known. A 'Visionary'...Ms. Johnson Legacy lives on! As a NYC Drama Teacher... I often remember...and share in those 'teachable moments' afforded to me by Ms. Johnson's Vision for her People...

"Aunt" Mildred as her close family called her, touched many lives throughout this city. May God bless and keep her family during this difficult time. The joy, beauty, and grace she brought into this world will live on.

To the Johnson Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Be assured that God does care and he helps us in our times of pain and sorrow. I hope that you are able to find a measure of comfort in fond memories and through the scriptures. Isa. 41:10

My personal condolences to Mrs. Johnson's family. She was our a coach (mentor) on charm, etiquette, character, saying "thank you please" and having a positive attitude. I must not forget "stand up straight no slouching!" A pioneer, legacy and trailblazer. I have many memories as she worked with us the Miss Black Houston Pageants at that time under the leadership of the late C. David Pollard, Alice Stewart and now Robertine Jefferson. Always warm and cordial. No matter how good you look on...

I am proud to say that I am a product of Mrs. Johnson's legacy! She pursued me from birth to be one of her charmettes. Talk about a life lived on purpose. Mrs. Johnson walked in her calling and because of her example, I am inspired to continue in her legacy and touch the hearts and lives of children, youth, and young women. She will be greatly missed but I am happy to know that her life was not in vain and that she lives on in our hearts. Mrs. J is with Jesus now and I rejoice and praise God...
