Raleigh, North Carolina - Mildred "Millie" Kirby Stelger, passed away on April 12, 2024. Born to the late Charles Durand Smith and Mildred Wallman Smith on September 18, 1935 in Essex Co., NJ.
She will be remembered as a loving Wife, mother, and grandmother. Millie was known for her love of family, the beach, crafting, travel and Hallmark movies. She was a manager at New Jersey Bell Telephone until she embraced her new role as Mother and Homemaker. In her Golden Years, she experienced newfound joy in being an "Oma".
Millie is survived by her daughters, Gretchen Stelger and husband, Chris, Heidi Mills and husband, Steven; grandson, Sutton Mills and wife, Caylee.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her Loving Husband, Robert "Bob" Ernest Stelger.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd., Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
