Mildred Leigh-Gold

Dear Leigh-Gold Family,
I met Mildred in 1994, when we were charter members of the WBCC. Since that time we have become sisters in the fight. Every time I've run into Mildred at a breast cancer function, she always gave me a great big hug and warmly referred to me as her adopted daughter. I always felt so touched by that statement. I will look for her at these breast cancer functions, and I will find her spirit.

To the family;
This is certainly a trying time and your going to get through it by GOD'S GRACE. Your mom is truly going to be missed. God makes no mistakes. Though we try to prepare ourselves, we are never prepared enough. However, there is a compassionate God in heaven who knows all things, sees all things; and who cares and gives comfort. Our loved ones depart, but never their love and never the blessings and joys that they brought us. May you feel God's presence as you grieve the loss...

Mildred Elaine Leigh-Gold was my sister. Not in blood, but love!! 34 years ago, when I was a very fragile, very young soon to be divorced mother of 2 toddlers, God sent me an angel named Mildred Leigh! She loved me, educated me, encouraged me, and inspired me ! Though her passing breaks my heart, in the words of a famous poet, " I shall but love thee better after death." Rest in peace my angel, until we meet again !!

Mildred was an awesome friend to my mother, in turn a wonderful friend to my brother and I. We love you Mildred and thank you for getting us through a very tough time in our lives.

I met Mildred year's ago thru my dear friend and her husband, Joe Gold. She was an amazing women, who has left a great legacy for many to follow. I know she is extremely delighted to be with our heavenly Father, and to be with Joe again!!
May "His" comfort, "His" joy, and "His" peace be yours.

My deepest sympathy to Mildred's family. I worked with Mildred at the Milwaukee Health Department and she was a very caring and loving individual. She will be greatly missed.

Mildred was one of the most creative and kindest people you could ever meet. She was giving, loving, caring and truly concerned about people and the community. I loved her forgiving nature and that wonderful smile. I remember her spirit, that tireless spirit to keep going until that Van for breast cancer exams was here in Wisconsin. I thank God for her work and friendship.We have lost a"Jewel".

My thoughts and prayers are with you on the loss of this remarkable lady. My volunteer time at MBCAP was enhanced by the spirit and dedication of this lady. She was truly a role model and served the community well. Mildred will always hold a special place in my heart.

We were blessed to have Mildred be part of a MBCCAP fundraiser we organized in memory of a friend who lost her battle to Breast cancer. For years, Mildred would participate at the event. One of my favorite parts of the day is when we’d all gather around to listen to Mildred give her annual speech. Her words gave encouragement and hope. She was an amazing woman on a mission to serve those in need. She has left us all with many gifts.
