Mildred Nimmo Lucas

Remember when I met Mildred back in 1984 and how she instantly made me feel like I'd always known her. The family is in my thoughts and prayers. Remember, "When you lose some one you love, you gain and Angel you know".

Our families will forever be connected through experiences shared...happy and sad. Looking back, Mildred & my mother spoke almost everyday. They were the mortar that held the families together, facing all situations with wisdom, strength, direction, but mostly LOVE.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mildred for the first time (although I have heard of her my entire life from my grandmother) last Saturday at my grandmother's (Norma Mills) funeral. She was so kind and had some wonderful words about my Mamaw. It was wonderful to see an example of such a long friendship.
My heart and prayers go out to her family as they grieve her absence.

Mildred was such a caring and compassionate woman who was committed to helping every person who walked through her office door. Strong and independent but always a lady.
