Mildred J. O'Rourke

Mildred J. "Midge" (Ostermeier) O'Rourke, 80, of Stanton Heights, died Monday, March 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of 51 years of Donald J. O'Rourke; loving mother of Meg Ann O'Rourke, Thomas D. O'Rourke and the late Kathleen J. O'Rourke; grandmother of Fergus Reyniak; sister of Thomas Ostermeier, Mary Groman, Cecilia Cabalik, the late Margaret Gregory and Norma J. Ostermeier; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Midge was a retired kindergarten teacher with the Pittsburgh Public School District. She was a volunteer at the Veteran's Administration Hospitals, with horseback riding for children with disabilities and with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA). She was a Ceili dancer. She had a fun, loving zest for life and was most proud of her family and Irish heritage. Family and friends will be received from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th St., Lawrenceville. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Raphael Church.
