Mildred Oppenheimer

Two memories stand out: If you couldn't think of the name of an author or the plot of a book, the immediate suggestion from anyone who knew her would be, "Ask Millie." Sure enough, she would supply the answer. No Google necessary when Millie was at hand. And if you asked to borrow a pan that was just right for cheese cake, Millie would show up with the pan, the best recipe and all the ingredients. What a special treat it was to know her.
