Not sure what to say?

Today, on a whim, I looked up Mrs. Polhill. She was a teacher of mine nearly 40 years ago at Elm St. Elementary in Phoenix NY. She told me once: "You will be a leader Walt." Those words have echoed in mind my whole life, and have helped shape who I am today. Her influence at a young age directly contributed to the success I have enjoyed. Her example is one I look to as a father. I'm deeply saddened to learn of her passing today, when I finally took the initiative to reach out and thank her. ...

I had the pleasure to work with Mildred Ann years ago at Brushy Creek
School in Round Rock. She was such a delight. Everyday day Gus
would walk her to class and as I think of Mildred Ann I also see Gus.
God bless you Gus and your family. She will be missed.
Sincerely,

Kathy Sparks

"My condolences to Gus and her family. Mildred Ann was a dear high school friend. I will miss her newsy Christmas letters.

I had the pleasure of working with Mildred Ann for several years at Brushy Creek Elementary in Round Rock, Texas. On many occasions I would tell Mildred Ann, that because of her wisdom, I gained a greater understanding of teaching. We shared many good memories at Brushy Creek, and I will miss her. To Gus, may your heart soon be filled with the wonderful memories of all the joyful times you and she had together, as you celebrate her life well lived and so,so loved! God bless you!

My thoughts are with the Polhill family and Mildred Ann's brother Ed, wife Marge and their children. Although Mildred Ann was 3 years ahead of me in school, I remember her well. I also had the good fortune of having her Mother as my teacher, and I count her brother Ed among my dear friends. She led a remarkable life and will be warmly remembered by many.

Ms. Polhill was my 3rd grade teacher, and part of the reason I am becomming a teacher myself. She was a wonderful person and I will always remember her kind heart.
