Mildred “Millie” Ann Schwersinske, age 91 of Montello passed away peacefully at the Montello Care Center on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Millie was born in Wisconsin Rapids to Alfred and Iva (Warren) Krueger on March 21, 1933. She moved to Janesville in 1948 and married Darwin Schwersinske on August 25, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville; together they raised their four sons in Edgerton (Fulton). After they retired in 1983, they moved to Black River Falls and then in 1991 to rural Montello. Darwin preceded Mildred in death on August 26, 2013.
Millie enjoyed her time in her garden as well as canning the many fruits of her labor. She liked watching old westerns and spending time with her dogs.
Millie is survived by two sons: Donald (Darlene) of Montello and Steven (Cheryl) of Packwaukee as well as eleven grandchildren: Michael (Amanda), Matthew (Jody), Mark (fiancé Colleen), Heidi, Tanya, Tammy (Mike), Robert (Catheryn), Bryan (Trina), Tina (Michael), Heather (Matt) and Leighann. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with former daughters-in-law: Marsha, Jan and Lori, other extended family members and friends.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Theodore (Sandy) and Dean, grandson, William and all of her siblings.
A graveside service for Millie will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Town of Dakota South Cemetery.
